Arbiters Dream is a rogue-like deckbuilder with turn-based tower defense combat. You construct your defenses while simultaneously commanding units to attack the chaos rift which spawns anomalies that invade your universe. All of this happens on a shared board: Every turn is a struggle between exploiting vulnerabilities in the enemies defenses and mitigating your own.
Read the battlefield. Find your moment to strike.
Shape the fate of your universe
A new universe is born.
You are its sworn protector: an Arbiter. You guide the young cosmos through the eternal conflict with chaos – a destructive and insatiable predator targeting worlds when they are developing and their arbiters are still weak.
Close the chaos rifts that are forming throughout the young universe, banish the anomalies, and flourish alongside your universe.
Balance offense and defense
Arbiters Dream reimagines tower defense as a duel. Each round, you and your opponent place units and towers on a shared board. That means that each round you have to decide if you want to deploy units to attack and close the chaos rift or fortify your defenses to withstand what emerges next.
Carefully balance your deck between towers and units to prepare for every encounter.
Spend your mana wisely by choosing between maximizing your attack and investments into a robust defense.
Command Your Forces From the Grid
Placing towers follows the well-known rules and strategies of the tower defense genre. But you are not alone on the map. Claim your favored building tiles to maximize range and efficiency of your towers before your opponent does!
Placing your units follows a similar logic: It’s not only about what you place, but where. Your 3×3 attack grid determines the order and spacing of your units as they emerge from the portal. Units stay there just like your towers and spawn each round. Placing units next to each other can even trigger adjacency effects and buffs.
Placing your attackers follows a similar logic: It isn’t just about what you play — it’s about where. Your 3×3 deployment grid determines the spawn order and positioning of your attacking units as they emerge from the portal. Units placed next to each other trigger adjacency effects and buffs. A well-constructed grid isn’t just efficient, but emphasizes strategy and forward-thinking.
Adapt to an ever-changing battlefield
Instead of endless escalation like in typical TD games, a void wave clears the map and attack grids every few turns, giving you the opportunity to adapt to your enemy and build up forces stronger and more synergistic than before.
The void wave creates an interesting dynamic: The first round after a void wave is key for priming your strategy for this cycle.
The defense of your opponent is most likely still weak, so attacks hit hard.
On the other hand most of the key building tiles are still available to claim.
